New to SVG?

That is okay! We will direct you in the right direction.

Per Wikipedia:

Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation. The SVG specification is an open standard developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) since 1999.

Where to find documentation

The latest SVG specification is the revision 1.1. It is available on W3C web site. You can download it from here here.

Is my browser supported?

As of 2011, all major desktop browsers - Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari - have some level of SVG support and can render the markup directly.

SVG 1.1 is supported only from Internet Explorer 9+.

Mobile devices based on iOS and Android have a quite complete support of SVG.

You can find here more details on the level of SVG support for your browser.
